Jon and Sansa make for a much more interesting and compelling romance than Jon and Danny as they have actual chemistry. You have the parallels between Jon/Sansa and Ned/Catelyn , you have the fact there both children of the north. They've also been through traumatic experiences that have hardened and matured them. They'd also do a better uniting the north and south then Jon and Danny.
